In trying to get healthy I am the type that needs a specific plan.  I need someone to say “eat this”.  So I do better with a “diet” lay out or a “blueprint”.  In talking to Bob we discussed all this and he recommended the book  Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. So this is the plan we are following (loosely I might add)
In the Primal Blueprint Mark talks about our ancestors (10,000 years ago) and how they lived and ate.  He adapted the way they lived to apply it to how we can do the same today and be in as good of shape as “grok” was 10,000 years ago. The basics are:
Eat lots of plants and animals
Move around a lot at a slow pace
Lift heavy things
Run really fast every once and a while
Get lots of sleep (my personal fav)
Play
Get some sunlight everyday
Avoid self destructive behavior
Avoid Poisonous things
Use your mind
So it’s pretty simple really, in theory.  So let’s see how simple it is when it’s lived out.  I’ll report back.  It’s week one so other than the doughnut I had yesterday (oh and the caramel popcorn, dang this is already hard!) we are doing pretty good.
